Slightly soluble in benzene, carbon tetrachloride. Insoluble in stout solvent. It is brown in concentrated sulfuric acid and turns dark orange after dilution. It is used for the coloring of various plastics, oils, inks, etc., and is also an intermediate of synthetic dyes and organic pigments. |
